AESTHETIC
I’M A CREATIVE. I LOVE TO DESIGN, DRAW, & PAINT. HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES IN MY PERSONAL LIFE.
Nursery Design
Inspired by the Colorado Mountains. Our need to connect with nature and a more simple lifestyle. Ollie’s nursery has a mixture of calming textures, a soft wool rug, faux fur animal-printed blanket, and neutral muslin crib sheet. Of course an Olive tree for our ‘Oliver’. I fell in love with the combination of wood, metal, and rock. Bringing the outdoors in but still creating a comfortable space. The handmade artwork giving that extra level of love. The gallery wall of mountainscapes reminding us of our days spent hiking.
A beautiful and peaceful place for our baby.
Thankful to live in this space.
First Birthday Party Design
Once again, inspired by our love of the outdoors and everything ‘wild’. Ollie’s first birthday party theme was WILD ONE. A true testament to how much I love him. Fun pops of color and earthy tones, handmade decorations, and a delightful food tablescape.
A great time had by all!
But most especially, the birthday boy.
Invitations
As a creative, I know that if I come across something beautiful, I most likely can replicate it and make it my own. For our wedding invitations and ceremony cards, I did just that. Inspired by nature and our ceremony under the trees, I loved how romantic the cascading Smilax vine is. In sketch form and mixed with typewriter font, on deckled edge handmade paper, gives it a touch of old-world charm. Designed using Adobe Illustrator.
A beautiful piece made with lots of love.
Drawing & Painting
I used 5 colors of oil paints to make these. Creating beautiful gifts for my family members at our wedding.
Wedding Gifts
I love to draw. I start with a pencil and will finish with a micron pen. Sometimes if I’m feeling colorful, I’ll use AD markers before finishing with the micron pen. I prefer to leave my sketches looking ‘unfinished’, gives them more depth and feeling. These are some of my drawings and illustrations through the years.
My dog, Gracie, being one of my favorite models.
Dog doodles!
My first time truly using oil paints. Given my knowledge now, I would’ve built the color differently to create more depth. Overall, I think it turned out nice.
My paintings usually start off as drawings. I study the subject for a while and map out the proportions with my pencil. I’ve used watercolor, acrylic, and oil paints for my paintings and my favorite medium is acrylic. It doesn’t take as long to dry and I like how quickly I can use it.
The prompt here was to use colored pencils and a grid method to replicate an original artwork. Here you can see my artwork on the left, trying to make a copy of Sir Stanley Spencer’s self-portrait.
Self-portrait, watercolor.
We love to travel. Venice, Italy was breathtakingly beautiful and I specifically felt ‘drawn’ to the Basilica Santa Maria della Salute.
Colored pencil on paper, I studied this skull from still life. Starting with a line weight drawing first and playing with light placement.
Inspired by my trip to Scottsdale, AZ, this drawing shows the diverse and stunning desert cacti. From the towering saguaro to the vibrant prickly pear, this piece captures the unique beauty and intricate details of these fascinating desert plants. Medium used here is Ad Markers, Micron Pen, & White-out Pen.
